Modeling and Stability Analysis Based on Internal Voltage Dynamics in Synchronverter

With the large-scale centralized penetration of renewable energy represented by wind turbine and photovoltaic power generation, equivalent inertia synchronous torque traditional grids have decreased, which is worsening frequency dynamics threatening stability reliability grids. Virtual generators (VSGs) are a type grid-friendly inverter in microgrids (MGs) that mimic rotational (SGs) to maintain system with increasing electronic converters. In this paper, analysis method one VSG, synchronverter, investigated based on internal voltage dynamics. The components affecting mechanism synchronizing, inertia, damping introduced, offers physical insight into transient dynamic performance. Insufficiency either or synchronizing would increase unstable possibility. characterization mechanisms can be illustrated phasor diagram synchronverter voltage. Some cases under different disturbances change pattern turn influence synchronverters, also discussed. addition, an auxiliary correction control loop proposed added enhance robustness against disturbances. tunable coefficient analyzed method. Simulation results verify validity synchronverters.
